  • FISU Executive Committee meets in Lausanne
    The new FISU Executive Committee members, elected in November 2019, convened for their first meeting on 21-22 February, to set the agenda for 2020 and beyond. FISU's vision is to lead the University Sport Movement, where the leaders of society are positively influenced by their University Sport experience. To help achieve this vision the FISU Steering and Executive Committees come together biannually to discuss the organisation’s recent events and to chart the year ahead.     The 2019 FISU Oceania General Assembly was held Sunday 17 November in Turin, Italy. FISU Oceania delegates were in Turin for the FISU General Assembly and like FISU, Oceania’s General Assembly included voting elections for the next mandate period 2020-2023. Read more on election results here.

    Flag-bearer Aaron Booth has won gold at the World University Games in Naples, Italy in the gruelling men’s decathlon event. Not only is it New Zealand’s first medal at the 2019 World University Games, but the first gold medal New Zealand has won in four years.

  • New Zealand Team to the World University Games
    Forty-seven athletes competing in seven sports have been selected to represent New Zealand at the World University Games to be held in Naples, Italy, 3-14 July. The World University Games, also known as the Summer Universiade, is a major international sporting event that is held every two years for student athletes from around the world. This year more than 9,000 athletes from over 128 countries will be competing in Naples for the 30th biennial event.

  • National Tertiary Women's Sevens Championship Recap
    The National Tertiary Women’s Sevens Championship was hosted by Counties Manukau Rugby Football Union at the Navigation Homes Stadium in Pukekohe and the final came down to a try after a penalty was awarded right before the final hooter.  The event was run alongside a New Zealand-lead International Invitational involving the Black Ferns 7s, Black Ferns 7s development squad, the All Black 7s development squad and 4 international sides.
