10 Years. 10K. 10,000K Together.
An annual tradition since 2016, the 20th of September is the International Day of University Sport (IDUS). Officially proclaimed by the United Nations Education, Science and Culture Organisation (UNESCO), this celebration helps create links between universities and their local communities with sport, physical activity and healthy living playing the leading role.
In 2026, the International Day of University Sport celebrates its 10th anniversary! to mark the occasion, FISU is challenging university communities around the world to get moving through its 10 Years - 10 Kilometres initiative.
Here in Aotearoa New Zealand, UTSNZ is taking that challenge one step further: Can our university community collectively move 10,000 km? Walk it. Run it. Ride it. Row it. Wheel it. Swim it. Move it your way.
Complete your activity between 14-20 September, track your distance, then submit your kilometres via the form below (open for submissions on 14-21 September) for verification. Every verified kilometre will be added to New Zealand's national total!
Take a photo or screenshot of your app, watch, erg screen or anything else as evidence!
Can we move 10,000 kilometres together?
