FISU Executive Committee meeting held in Brasilia - Chengdu WUG Dates Confirmed

The International University Sports Federation (FISU) held their meeting of the Executive Committee on the 24 and 25th of June, in Brasilia, hosted by the Brazilian Confederation of University Sports (CBDU).

In this meeting, the FISU Executive Committee announced new dates for the Chengdu World University Games, stating that the event will now take place from 28 July to 8 August 2023 in Chengdu, China. It was also decided that the event will keep its original Chengdu 2021 name, although the new dates are in 2023.

Age limit and eligibility of student athletes will be adapted to allow the participation of all students that were eligible in 2021 and 2022.

The games model will be proposed by the Organizing Committee during the next Executive Committee meeting in November.
