2026 FISU World Forum Opportunity

UTSNZ is inviting expressions of interest from eligible students and staff who wish to attend the 2026 FISU World Forum, to be held in Östersund, Sweden from 24–28 August 2026.

The FISU World Forum is an international university sport event that brings together students, sport administrators, university representatives and Healthy Campus stakeholders from across the world. Held every two years, the Forum brings together more than 200 participants from over 60 countries.

The five-day event is dedicated to students, national and continental university sport federation officials, members of the FISU family, international organisations and organising committee representatives and provides opportunities to participate in workshops, presentations and discussions focused on the role of sport within higher education.

Forum Theme

The theme for the 2026 Forum is:

“Active Body, Healthy Mind: How Impactful Sport Can Be at Universities”

The programme will explore topics including:

  • Healthy Campus and wellbeing initiatives
  • University sport events, governance and inclusion
  • Dual career pathways, supporting students balancing sport and study

The Forum includes keynote sessions, workshops, group activities and networking opportunities, as well as cultural events hosted by the organising committee.

Who Can Apply

Expressions of interest are open to:

  • Current students enrolled at a UTSNZ member institution, and
  • Staff working in roles related to sport, student engagement, wellbeing, leadership or healthy campus initiatives.

This is a self-funded opportunity, and applicants will need to cover all costs associated with travel, accommodation, registration and related expenses.

Applicants should also be willing to share key learnings with the UTSNZ network following the event.

  5. A short summary outlining why you wish to attend

EOI Deadline: 5pm, 31 March 2026

Expressions of interest will be reviewed by UTSNZ, and applicants may be contacted for further information.
