The UTSNZ Challenge Series is a suite of online and physical events for current tertiary students. It runs alongside but separate to the National Tertiary Championships. Challenge Series events may be national or regional and aim to encourage participation from students right across the country. Check out the events we've got coming up below!
Open Water Swimming
The Open Water Swimming Challenge is being held within Swimming NZ's annual Epic Swim Event on the 16th & 17th of January. Epic Swim is a recreational open water swimming event on the idyllic setting of Lake Taupo, and also includes the New Zealand Open Water Championships.
You can swim for a national open and tertiary title in one or more of the three Epic event distances - 2.5km, 5km and 10km.
The Beach Volleyball NZ University Championships head up north to the stunning Ruakaka Beach, hosted by Volleyball NZ. It will make up part of the Ruakaka Beach Bash programme which is NZ's largest festival of beach volleyball. The university championships are held on Friday the 22nd of January and will be followed by the Northland Slam.
After our first foray into esports in 2020, UTSNZ is excited to form a series of events with a broader range of games in 2021. Check back soon to find out what titles will be included.
